Skiing with Spring Conditions

spring skiing

Skiing with Spring Conditions is the best of both worlds – it is warmer and the snow is soft!

Skiing With Spring Conditions can be lots of fun. Once the temperature gets above 32 degrees the snow gets soft . On the first warm day the snow may get sticky, but just wait one day and that all changes. If the temperature drops below freezing the following night, corn snow starts to form. Corn snow is like diamond shaped ice crystals. Corn snow is not sticky, unless there is a very high moisture level. And it is fun to ski on because it’s fast, not icy, and can be soft. The sunny slopes may get a little heavy latter in the day, but corn snow is still faster than sticky wet fresh snow.
